Parking & Parking Passes at Azure

Azure provides a secure, gated parking garage for the use of the residents & guests. Two parking spaces inside the garage are included with your reservation. Use the garage gate code provided in your check-in email that is emailed to you 10 days in advance of your arrival. That code is changed periodically so we include it in the check-in email to ensure that you receive current information.

Passenger cars and pick-up trucks only may utilize the parking facilities. No large trucks, boats and/or trailers, motorhomes, or any other vehicles may use parking facilities.

PARKING PASS (REQUIRED): A parking pass is required to be displayed on each car that is parked inside the garage.

10 days before your arrival (or sooner if you booked the property more last minute) you will receive an email  (“REQUIRED: Parking Pass for your stay at Azure 304”) that contains the 2 parking passes assigned to your booking. You’ll need to print off those passes and bring them with you

Failure to display the parking pass with complete information on the car’s dashboard may result in the car being towed at the owner’s expense.

If you have more than two cars there is a public parking lot at 1111 Santa Rosa Blvd located between the Hampton Inn (next door to Azure) and Waterscape and in front of the Summer Place building. After turning into the parking area the public parking lot is on the immediate right (closest to Santa Rosa Blvd) and is free on a first-come/first-served basis.

Information Book

There is an Information Book in the unit that contains more detailed information about our condo. You’ll find instructions for how to operate the thermostats, etc., and check-out instructions as well as notices required by the state of Florida. Please be sure to read the information in this book upon your arrival.

While you are there, we would appreciate your cooperation with the following:

  • Please do NOT sit on the couches with wet bathing suits or with suntan lotion or oil on your skin. Thanks for helping us to keep the furniture looking nice!
  • Please do not put luggage on the beds. Luggage racks have been provided in each bedroom.
  • Please do not use the white washcloths to remove makeup or excessive dirt. There are dark colored washcloths provided in each bathroom for this purpose.
  • Please do not put potato peelings, shrimp shells, coffee grounds or any other kinds of solid waste into the sink & through the garbage disposal. Please throw all waste into the trash.
  • HOA rules prohibit hanging anything from the railings on the balcony including bathing suits, towels, etc.
  • HOA rules stipulate that toddlers must wear swim diapers when in the pool.
  • We do not provide beach towels. If you don’t want to pack your own you can buy inexpensive beach towels at one of the many beach stores in the area. Please do not take our bath towels, blankets or quilts out of the unit (to the pool or the beach.) The condo is prepared with one bath towel, one hand towel & one wash cloth per person and an inventory will be taken when the unit is cleaned after your departure. If the housekeeper reports missing towels after your stay, we will ask you to please pay to replace them.
  • This is a beach destination so we ask for your cooperation in trying to leave sand outside of the unit as much as possible. After enjoying the beach please use the outdoor shower in the pool area to wash all sand off of your bodies, feet, equipment and toys before entering the condo. Please also leave all sandy shoes at the entry door so sand is not tracked throughout the condo.
  • Please call or text our housekeeper (850 586-1266) during your stay (but no later than the night before you leave) to let her know what time you plan to check-out. This will help her plan the cleaning schedule for that day. Please be sure to identify yourself as “Guests of Azure 304”. Thanks for your assistance! (REMINDER: Check-out time is no later than 10:00 a.m.)

Ice Maker in Refrigerator

Florida law requires that all of the ice is removed from the freezer between reservations. When you arrive you must lower the arm on the ice-maker in the freezer and make sure the ice bin is resting snugly against the back edge of the drawer before it will begin to make ice again. Be sure the ice tray is pushed all the way back so that it does not interfere with the movement of the arm.

Using the Smart TVs

All of the TVs in our condo are Smart TVs with streaming capabilities.

Some of the streaming apps are paid services (such as Netflix or Prime Video). To use a paid service you must have an account with the service provider. DO NOT FORGET TO LOG OUT OF YOUR PAID ACCOUNTS! We cannot be held responsible if you fail to do so and your accounts are used by others.

Smart TV service outages can be caused by disruptions in the Internet service.

Azure Pool Wristbands & Hours

All residents or guests who are using the common elements at Azure (including the swimming pools, hot tubs, splash feature, grills, picnic area or other common elements such as the lobby or public restrooms) are required to wear an authorized wristband at all times. Ten wristbands will be provided in the condo for the use of our guests during their stay. Please make sure all ten wristbands are returned to the holder prior to your departure. Our housekeeper takes inventory of the wrist bands after every guest stay;  if the housekeeping service reports that any are missing you will be charged a $20 replacement fee per missing wristband.

If you wish to replace any missing pool bands before you leave you can pick them up at the concierge desk in the lobby. The replacement bands will be billed to our HOA account. When we receive that bill then we will contact you to make arrangements for reimbursement.

If you take care of replacing any missing bands before you leave the charge will be $10 per pool band. If our housekeeper reports that any pool bands are missing and has to make arrangements to replace them the charge will be $20 per pool band. So if you take care of it yourself before you leave you can save $10 per band by doing so.

Broken pool bands can be replaced at no charge; just take them to the concierge desk in the lobby and exchange the broken band for a new one.

Pool & hot tub hours: Between the hours of 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM

Building Quiet Hours: Between the hours of 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM

Provide “Azure 304” if you are asked for your unit number.

If the beach service attendant is not at the station just choose any chairs that are not currently being used. He will eventually come over to you introduce himself and ask for your condo number. Please do not move the chairs from one location to another.

Azure offers the largest fitness center available on Okaloosa Island. It has recently been furnished with new state-of-the-art equipment. You must be at least 18 years old to use the fitness center; children under the age of 18 are not allowed.

The code to open the keypad on the fitness center door is the same as the garage gate code that has been provided to you.

Grills

Cooking grills are not allowed on the balconies. Charcoal grills are available on the east side of the building next to the parking garage.

Exit the condo front door & walk past the trash chute to the elevator and stairs (just past the elevator). On the ground level walk around the corner of the garage where you’ll see a deck with picnic table and three charcoal grills.

We’ve provided a set of grilling tools (located in the pantry closet) that you can use, but guests must provide their own charcoal & supplies. Please be sure to clean the grilling tools and return them to the pantry closet after every use so that the next guests will be able to use them.

Trash

All trash must be bagged, taken out & disposed of through the trash chute on the 3rd floor. The trash chute is located just across the hall from the front door of our condo.

Trash must be bagged before disposing via the trash chute to aid in keeping the trash chute clean & to prevent it from getting blocked. If you have trash that is not bagged, please take it down to the 1st floor trash chute which drops directly into the dumpster.

Our housekeeper provides several trash bags per clean, but if you need more you will have to purchase them while you are there.

No Pets & No Smoking Reminder

Guests are not permitted to bring pets into our unit. Additionally, no smoking is permitted inside of the unit. If extra cleaning is necessary to remove pet stains and/or clean carpets/upholstery to remove cigarette odor after your departure, the cost of that cleaning will be charged to your booking. Thanks very much for your cooperation.

Check-Out Procedures

CHECK OUT TIME IS NO LATER THAN 10 A.M. Central Time. NO Late Check-Outs without prior permission. (Be careful because your door access code will expire and you will not be able to get back into the unit after it does.)

Please follow this process when checking out:

Please turn on all ceilings fans to “low” so that the air will circulate and ventilate the condo prior to our housekeeper’s arrival.

Or if you take care of replacing any missing bands before you leave the charge will be $10 per pool band. You can pick them up at the concierge desk in the lobby. So if you take care of it yourself before you leave you can save $10 per band by doing so.
  2. Please start a load of laundry (towels) if there is laundry detergent available. Our housekeeper appreciates this head start on the large amount of laundry that will need to be done. Be sure that all towels are accounted for. You will be charged for lost/damaged/excessively dirty towels or linens.
  3. Rinse soiled dishes and utensils & place in the dishwasher with dishwasher soap pod and turn on. Dishwasher pods/detergent are located under the kitchen sink.

  6. All trash must be bagged, taken out & disposed of through the trash chute on the 3rd floor. **Trash must be bagged before disposing via the trash chute to aid in keeping the trash chute clean. 7. Please check all drawers in the bedrooms, the kitchen and bathroom cabinets for personal belongings. We are not responsible for any items left behind.
  8. TURN OFF ALL THE LIGHTS & turn the thermostat (located in the hallway) down to 74 degrees.

Please return the luggage carts to the lobby if you use them to carry your luggage/baggage down to the parking lot.

Wireless Internet Settings

SSID: Azure304

Password: Vacation#1

Troubleshooting: Occasionally a storm or other instance may interrupt the connection from the router to the modem. If you cannot connect, try disconnecting the power to the modem (located on top of the TV cabinet in the living room), waiting a minute or so, then reconnecting the power to the modem.  This almost always fixes the problem.

NOTE: The TV cable & Internet service is provided by the HOA of the building. While we have our own secure connection/network in this condo, the account belongs to the HOA. If we are informed that there is a problem with either the TV or Internet we will report it immediately (or as soon as possible) to the HOA. The HOA is responsible for contacting Cox regarding the issue and for scheduling service calls. This may prove difficult if an outage happens in the evening or over a weekend. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

About the Beach

Beach Service:  As a service for our guests FREE beach service is included with your reservation – four beach chairs and two beach umbrellas set up on the beach & reserved for you each day (March 1 – October 31). Just contact the beach attendant the first time you go down to the beach and give him the unit number and the dates of your reservation.

If you wish to rent more equipment during your stay you should contact the Beach Service attendant on the beach to make arrangements. We suggest you go out to the beach early your first day to make arrangements for your rentals.

Sand Dunes:  Please make everyone in your group aware that it is illegal to walk on or across the sand dunes along the beach. They are there to protect from hurricanes. If you are caught walking on the dunes there are heavy fines. Don’t walk on the Dunes!

Dolphins:  Keep your eyes open if on the beach at dusk or dawn, we very often see dolphins swimming right off shore. If the dolphins come in close, which they do occasionally, do not get in the water and try to touch them, it is illegal to touch the dolphins (we humans have germs that can harm the dolphins).

Sea Gulls:  Do not feed sea gulls. There is a $200 fine if you are caught feeding them.

Jellyfish:  When the gulf waters get warmer (generally later in the summer) the jellyfish start to emerge. Some of them do not sting, but others do. If you, by chance, get stung by a jellyfish, here are a couple different websites that tell you how to reduce the effects:

http://www.wikihow.com/Soothe-a-Jellyfish-Sting
http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2012/05/how-to-treat-a-jellyfish-sting/

Rip Currents:  Over the past few years, there have been several ocean related deaths along the gulf coast caused by rip currents. They are the # 1 cause of deaths in the area. Please pay attention to the flags on the beach. If there is a Double RED FLAG do NOT swim. The rip tides (rip currents) can be deceptively strong. If you, by chance, do get caught in a rip tide, let the current take you out to sea then swim parallel to the beach to get out of the rip current. Here are a couple videos about how to spot and survive rip currents:  http://www.ripcurrents.com/ and  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hCZuYzNujI.

For current conditions and flag updates, text “FLAG” to 67463 to receive a link or visit  http://www.swfd.org/beach.php.

Flag Warning System

Double Red Flag:  Water is closed to public (dangerous water conditions). If caught in the water during double red flags you can be ticketed, fined or even arrested. More importantly, you can die. Please don’t get in the water!
Red Flag:  High Hazard (high surf and/or strong currents). When red flags are present, adults are only supposed to go in up to their waist and small children are not supposed to enter the water. If you go in under red flag conditions, be sure to have a flotation device with you.
Yellow Flag:  Medium Hazard (moderate surf and/or currents)
Green Flag:  Low Hazard (calm conditions, exercise caution)
Purple Flag:  Marine Pests Present (jellyfish, stingrays, dangerous fish)

Sharks:  And one last precaution, there are sharks are in the Gulf. They are generally more afraid of you than you are of them. Thankfully the waters are generally very clear so you can usually see them. If you are in the water and see a big school of bait fish–often birds will be swarming in the area of baitfish schools (or you can also smell them—they smell super fishy), it’s best to get out of the water—generally there will be dolphins and sharks following them. The sharks rarely come close to shore; they mainly hang out behind the sandbar which is around 100-200 yards off the shore. Bottom line: use common sense whenever in the water, especially in the evening (when sharks do most of their feeding).
